19 Apr

by Dimitria Ioannidou//

It’s that time of the year.   The Milan Design Week.  How fortunate are we to have our full time “Inspiration Agent”, eh?  Always on board and carrying cameras, always coming back with an enormous photo-story, always my sis, enjoy Galatia’s view of the Italian story.

Who let the Books out?

15 Nov

by Dimitria Ioannidou//

Imagine something like a car, with 26 windows and 1500 books.  Imagine a big white van with adjustable levels for the convenience of its guests. Imagine a non profit initiative materialized aesthetically in the highest standards.  Now stop imagining.  It’s a mobile library in the streets of Mexico and I wish I could be there as we speak to see it in person.

Some pictures are now in order.

What I saw..Milan Design Week

24 Apr

I know I know, you have h-art enough.  We might have overdone it with art posts lately but we try to keep up with the crisis, people, and just because shopping doesn’t rocket sky high on our behalf, it doesn’t mean our inspiration will have to suffer too.  So be quiet, read what we write (that is said in a polite way, with a smile…), be happy and repeat.  It’s good for you!

And while the topic is inspiration, we are delighted to present a humongous photo-story  unfolding in the heart of Milan, during the infamous Design Week (Salone Internazionale del Mobile) which we’ll all have the pleasure to enjoy through the lens of manic-street-pinner, aka my sister, Galatia.

Taste Milan!

Smurf Attack

26 Mar

by Dimitria Ioannidou//

This blog is becoming more and more art friendly, no? Its comics turn today, the most literary of the plastic arts, the outcome of the ever closer collusion between the desire to tell stories and the art of drawing. Plus, the comic festival is about to open its doors in Athens, plus Milo Manara will be there (and so are we), plus there is the Comic Strips museum in Brussels that I visited just for you. So especially dedicated to all us children out there…

Concluding in the museum’s own wors: Comic strip is not the result of a discovery. From the oldest known accounts of cave art to the dawn of the 20th century, the various elements of this exhibition confirm the popular adage that “nothing is invented, everything just changes”.

Here is a first taste from our ‘Emanuella & Maria’ event in “hot” Brussels, no seriously it’s so hot it feels like home! You’ll see poetry all around, perfectly merging with fashion. Poetess Stavroula Gatsou has filled the space with words and poems inspired by the dual nature of every woman.

So voila for now, and for those of you who live in Belgium, we’ll be here until Sunday looking forward to seeing you too.
